How To Kill Banana Spiders

Killing Banana Spiders

First, I would like to inform you that there are two types of banana spiders. One is big, ugly and can kill you and the other is just big and ugly. The both got the nickname of Banana Spider because of the way they look or because of where they hide. I will tell you the differences between these to and how to kill them. They are quite simple to kill, just like any other spider. However, I don’t know if I’d attempt to get close enough to the one that can kill me to try and kill it. I’m not stupid like you are.

The Brazilian Wandering Spider can be found in the tropical parts of Central and South America. They are considered to be one of the most venomous spiders in the world. If you don’t live in South or Central America then you don’t need to worry about these creepy little killers. These spiders are named as such because they wander the floor of the jungle at night. They don’t make webs and during the day they hide in a variety of places, most commonly banana plants. They like somewhere that is moist and dark. I would advise hanging around the jungle at night to avoid these spiders and the other various dangers of the jungle.

The Golden Silk orb-weaver can be found in parts of North America in the coastal southeast and inland. They can’t kill you like theother kind but their bites can leave a nasty bump. They got their nickname because of their appearance. They weave elaborate webs that are golden in color, hence the name. They can be found near certain plants and gardens and usually don’t enter the home but some do. Most people don’t recommend killing them because they tend to kill other insects that can be a nuisance to us humans. They are free insect control. However I would kill one in a heartbeat because they are so creepy looking. If they are getting to close for comfort it is recommended to destroy their webs until they decide to set up shop somewhere else.

If you want to kill either of these spiders and I definitely would there are a few ways to accomplish it. One fail proof method to kill these spiders and any spider is with a shoe. The shoe can either be on your foot or in your hand. You either stomp it to death or smack it to death. Both ways work. Just about any object can do this but a shoe is pretty handy most of the time.

There is always bug spray/insecticide. Most types will kill just about any bug. Two great kinds are Demand and Demon WP. If spiders are hanging out in your yard or on plants the best way is with soapy water. Mix dish soap and water in a spray bottle and spray the plant and webs. This should kill them or at least make them move.

These are only a couple of ways to eliminate spiders. I’m sure you can think of a few, I’m not going to do all the work for you.
